Family Mint Money Management Certification Program Review

~ A Complete Step-by-Step Program for Learning Money Management ~

Teach your kids to be good stewards of their money with this award-winning program!
Only a few minutes a week results in lessons that will last a lifetime!

I've said many times in the past that I am NOT a math person. However, when you homeschool and much in daily life you will find yourself in math situations. I usually pass any type of math homework questions onto my husband, but there is one type of math I actually like to do and teach! Money Management! I pride myself in trying to be frugal, balancing my checkbook, paying bills, writing checks, and saving. I was very excited for the chance to review the Family Mint program to see how it worked for me and my children.

The Family Mint Money Management Certification Program is a personal finance curriculum ideally suited for grades 5 & up (ages 10+), but I also found it useful as a review for my older teens as well. This program is written by Robert Masterson and Jeff Eusebio.

I was able to listen in on a conference call with one of the co-founders of Family Mint, Robert (Bob) Masterson (who has 9 children by the way) and listen to his thoughts and ideas.
This program was created out of a need within his own family.
Bob went on to explain some scary statistics to us, like only 5% of adults learn money management in school.
He talked about forming good habits with your money and how to teach your children. We need to show and teach our children good money management at home.
They need to be taught that money is a limited resource.
The Money Management program will teach your children goal setting, how to track their money with goal tracking worksheets. Saving money, delaying gratification, writing checks and deposit slips, budgeting, understanding interest, and more!

The program is designed to allow you to complete the workbook at your own pace. As a guideline, a chapter should take no more then one week.

This workbook is a great addition to our math. This is something all children need to be taught and is a great lesson in creating some really good lifelong habits! My kids and I enjoyed working on the pages in the workbook and reading the Fun Money Fact on some pages. Example - The largest bill ever printed was the $100,000 bill. The $100 bill has been the largest denomination of currency in circulation since 1969.

Your children can earn a Certificate of Completion at the end of the course and you can choose to use the workbook, online learning, or both!
We preferred to use the workbook.
